Nothing has been more debated in the past 50 years of ark research than the proposed evidence discovered at the Durupinar site. Ron Wyatt's claims, among most of his other discoveries, are highly contested by some, but not all members of the scientific community.
There are alot of articles that have circulated that claim he was just a deceitful man in search of money and fame. He was abducted by Kurdish terrorists; he was accused of espionage and imprisoned in Saudia Arabia; and people around him were killed. Did he really bare all that trouble for money and fame? You decide. The main source of criticism has come from those who search for the Ark on Mt. Ararat.
The Durupinar object does not stand or fall based on Wyatt's credibility. No matter what others may say, in the end their views are not a determining factor if it is or isn't Noah's Ark. Final determination is concluded by a thorough and proper excavation.

Durupinar is located in the biblical "mountains of Ararat"
Actually, the bible was translated from the "mountains of Urartu" to "mountains of Ararat." Urartu was an ancient kindgom in Armenia. This is what the area was called when Moses wrote the account in Genesis.
...the Ark came to rest in the mountains of Ararat." Genesis 8:4
